The “family homes” model

Sibuet family

We are in the early 80s, when Jocelyne and Jean-Louis Sibuet, children of the country and newlyweds, had the idea of offering a different chic in a resort renowned among the aristocracy. Their definition of luxury? Stay with attentive service, but in a “home-like” decor that reflects the codes and aesthetics of the mountain. More than a French way of life, it is a question of promoting that of the destination in which we are. If they got their hands on their first small hotel, it was thanks to the construction of Les Fermes de Marie, at the very beginning of the 90s, that they imposed their style. A certain vision of the charming hotel industry, and which for many still remains a reference. To this address, which is still emblematic thirty years later, was added the Hotel Mont-Blanc, in 1994, and then, two years later, the Lodge Park (largely renovated this winter, with a brand new 800 m² spa) in the spirit of an ultra-chic trappers' refuge... In 2000, it was their crush on Provence during family vacations that called on them to reflect the values of Megève in the countryside of the Lucerne National Park. Beron, with La Bastide de Marie. Villa Marie joined the collection in the wake: a second Provençal address, this time overlooking the Mediterranean from the Tropezian hinterland. Mary? The name of their eldest daughter who, hell couldn't lie, caught the hotel bug, like her brother Nicolas. In 2011, barely 30 years old, they imagined more generational addresses, inaugurating a new type of mountain hotels — Altapura in Val Thorens, Hotel des Dromonts in Avoriaz, Terminal Neige-Totem in Flaine... — before taking over the destiny of the group in its. If they acquire Villa Marie in Saint-Barth — an intimate UFO, far from the beaches and like a colonial house in full vegetation, offering a breathtaking view from the roof of the island — and open tables d'hote for 100% mountain experiences in Megève (a table d'hote in the mountain pastures, the takeover of the oldest bistro in Megève...), they decided by mutual agreement to refocus on what they care about and to go their Roots are. So what remains is Megève, Provence, the Côte d'Azur, Saint-Barth and an expertise that they have been able to develop as a family to the point that Fermes de Marie have made it their signature: Pure Altitude Spas. A vision of well-being inspired by mountain plants, promoting a mineral atmosphere, raw materials and unique protocols. And while Marie and Nicolas invest 200% in interior architecture and transmission through their various establishments, Marie has made spas her field of choice, while Nicolas is committed to the development of any agro-tourism sector. Working the vine in the middle of the Luberon coasts came naturally, and today, 80% of the vegetables in Bastide de Marie are produced in the vegetable garden in permaculture. Same production for olive oil, honey, essential oils... A logical continuation of this vision of authentic luxury, now even more rooted in a rural experience.
